This company does all the commercial shipping for the Chiquita Corp in Honduras. There, they will fill large shipping containers with the packages recieved. When a container is full, it will be sent by boat to Puerto Cortes, and then transferred to a Chiquita warehouse in San Pedro Sula. If you want the packages to go to a particular family, or individual, then you must put the name, address and phone number on the package. Chiquita will then attempt to contact the people. Those receiving packages in the San Pedro Sula area must then go to the warehouse to pick up their packages. Any items sent for general relief should be marked as Honduras.com Relief Supplies, and these items will be distributed by the Red Cross. Any unclaimed items will also be distributed. It is the responsibility of the person sending the relief items to pay the cost of shipping to Opalocka, Florida.

PACKAGING OF GOODS:
All donated goods must be properly packaged and have a description of the contents (i.e. Men’s shoes, Women’s clothes, etc.) This will enable the goods to be identified and distributed in a more orderly manner. Proper packing would be boxes or drums, no plastic or paper bags.

The Salvation Army is currently running a Health and Welfare net over the airwaves at 14.265 on 20 meters. This is a world wide Amateur Radio band. The communications are being handled by SATERN volunteers from all over the United States, Canada and elsewhere. SATERN stands for "Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network". Our purpose is to communicate worldwide to assist in times of disaster. We are a group of approximately 1,500 volunteers who meet daily by radio to establish communication links that will assist the Salvation Army in their disaster responses.

A group of Honduran natives has formed a committee to collect relief aid for "el departamento" Gracias a Dios in Honduras. You may instanstly realize that our relief effort differs because our aid will be sent to the most rural area in Honduras (La Mosquitia). Many local organizations have cooperated in our relief effort and we plan to ship a couple of containers to Gracias a Dios soon. PROCEDURES FOR DROP-OFF

A. Food Products: Wikoff Fuel Oil which is located at 234 Maple Avenue, Red Bank, New Jersey will be the site for canned goods and non-perishable food items. (See attached list) If possible, please box these items. Upon arrival at Wikoff, go in the driveway on the right hand side of building. Boxes should be dropped off in the garage on the right hand side of building.

B. Clothes: The Woman’s Club of Red Bank which is located at 164 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey will be receiving clothing items. These items can be dropped off in boxes or bags on the front porch of the Woman’s Club of Red Bank.
