deGeneration X: By David Jenison for Paste Magazine I just landed on Roatán Island in Honduras for a sanity-questioning adventure with maverick Karl Stanley. RJ’s BBQ Utila Honduras

There’s no better way to spend the day! Or work up an appetite. The plan for this eve on Utila is RJ’s home-style BBQ; a popular location for dinner groups, […]

Roatan Honduras = Beaches plus Adventure and more!

Roatan Honduras = Beaches plus Adventure and more!

The island of Roatan is never quite what you’d expect. Case in point: The Mayan Jungle Canopy, a small zoo featuring local Central American animals. I normally hate animals being caged, but not here. That’s because, strictly speaking, they’re not always locked up. Our tour guide, Antonio, explains: “We don’t worry about it too much, […]

Roatan Travel Guide and Tips

Roatan Travel Guide and Tips

Off the northern coast of mainland Honduras is a skinny, 32-mile-long island called Roatán. This Central American paradise has been a hot spot for divers for several years. But you don’t have to be a diver to fall in love with the place.

Sitting 35 miles out in the Caribbean Sea, Roatán is surrounded by a large coral reef, and the snorkeling and deep-sea fishing are great, the beaches are gorgeous and the water is crystal-clear. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to hang out in and the people are friendly.
