Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez is living up to his commitment to tourism in Honduras. On May 20th 2015 the NEW Tela Airport opened for flights by Domestic / International Airlines as well as charter operators in the department of Atlantida, Honduras The full service airport was declared open for business and tourism right on schedule.

On May 20th 2015 the director of Civil Aviation in Honduras (DGAC) José Israel Navarro delivered to the President Juan Orlando Hernández the license that allows the full operation of flights at the airport.

On April 20th 2015 Honduran President Juan Orlando Henandez announced that the New Tela Airport (Flight Code “TEA”) would open on time on May 20th; and as you can see above it did :-) Now book your flights to Tela Atlantida Honduras and explore one of the best beaches in the Country of Honduras as well as all of the many other Tourism attractions available.

Tela-Airport

Completion of the Tela Airport is scheduled for May 20th 2015.
Tela is one of the top tourism destinations in the Country of Honduras.

The Tela airport will consist of a 1,600 meter runway and a passenger terminal.

Upon completion, tourist in Honduras will be able to easily fly between Roatan Bay Islands, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Copan, Gracias Lempira, La Moskitia La Ceiba, as well as many other tourism destinations in our beautiful country.

Plus if all goes as planned the new International airport at Palmerola Military Base (also known as “Soto Cano” home to the US Southern Command – Joint Force Bravo in Comayagua Honduras”) will be completed prior to President Hernandez presidential term ending.

The Tela airport is being built by the Honduran army corps of engineers.

Over 300 million lempiras is being invested by the government to improve the infrastructure of air travel within the country.
