My Honduras Diving Adventure: Part VII

Our week was almost over. In a our short adventure, John and I left the snow and vacationed in Utila, Honduras.  A small divers paradise.

My Honduras Diving Adventure

Sunset in Utila

We went from not knowing how to defog our masks to donning our scuba gear and giant striding (is that a word?) like professionals.  In between, we managed to see the sights of our island oasis.

On our final night we decided to celebrate by participating in the famous “Guifity Challenge” at a local pub, Skid Row.  For less than $10 we drank 4 shots of guifity (tincture of rum, vodka, and what looks like herbs and weeds ???) and donned new t shirts to match the 500 other people we saw wearing them throughout the week.   As we stumbled home, the sun was setting over the water and creating the perfect end to our Honduras Diving Adventure.

Thanks to Sarah, Chris, Bel and the rest of the staff at Coral View Dive Center.  You made our diving experience a memorable one.  Thanks to Sue and Angel of the Round House for accommodating all of our needs.  Thanks to Alice, the best travel agent ever!  You saved our flights, our luggage, and our trip. We hope to be back soon.
