In my career I have had the great pleasure of traveling through
much of the Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico, and I visit as
many resorts as possible. On any given trip I will site inspect
three to five resorts per day. My last business trip to St. Maarten
was ten days and we inspected over 25 properties. I get to see the
good, the bad, and the ugly, and tend to judge resorts along the
lines of both physical assets and human assets. I have a special
place in my heart for Honduras and the Bay Islands are one of my
favorite destinations anywhere in the “warm weather”
world, with Guanaja as the chosen favorite for R and R. Guanaja
and Posada del Sol are synonymous. It is not possible
for me to think of one without the other.
Upscale, yes – but without pretension or attitude. Upscale
by virtue of the resort’s “island…yet professional
personality” and a staff that places an emphasis on the guest
experience. Guest rooms are comfortable and maintain a regional
Mayan Caribbean charm and decor, but would not be considered the
greatest asset. The pool, tennis, massage, diving and fishing are
there when I want it, yet the most appealing parts of Posada is
the level of comfort and easy pace that becomes part of you. It
is these distinguishable points of difference that define Posada’s
character. Incredible location, wonderful balance of resort and
nature, and the great resort personality that becomes part of you.
An infectious charm that gives one a sense of comfort and well being.
If not for the existing resort operation, quite possibly one of
the best opportunities in the Caribbean for a spiritual wellness
and learning center.
