New Radar for Honduras Airports

Officers of the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that two new radars are being installed in San Pedro Sula and Puerto Lempira to improve commercial air traffic control in Honduras.

The Director of Civil Aviation, Manuel Enrique Cáceres Díaz, said they updated the Radar Control Center in San Pedro Sula, “which is the one responsible for the control of commercial airliners that fly Honduran space” with an investment of 10 million lempiras.

Director Cáceres added that, “In Puerto Lempira, we will soon start building a control tower and air terminal which will provide an advantage for controlling Honduran air traffic in that area.”
