PLEA
FOR INTERNATIONAL HELP |

| As
you must know by now, our country, and
especially our city, San Pedro Sula, is
suffering from the disastrous consequences of
Hurricane Mitch. This hurricane hit our national
territory for 8 consecutive days, causing
direct destruction and the overflow of
all rivers surrounding our city. The
the heavy continous water pounded 20 inches of rain per day. |

| The
impact we have suffered is far greater
than the capacity of our resources. We cannot
possibly respond immediately to the need for
food, housing and medical attention that
the victims of this disaster deserve. The
cost to repair our basic infrastructure such
as roads, bridges and housing for low
income families is immense. |

| Based
on the above, we are appealing for
international help and to human
solidarity to provide us with any means
possible in order to enable us to begin to reconstruct our city. |

| This
help can consist of food, medicine,
clothes, any system to aid in controlling pests and diseases, any means for purifying water,
tents, any means for pumping water, technical
assistance to solve emergencies, and even
donations and/or accesible financing for
reconstruction projects to help with our infrastructure for such projects as building bridges. |
