Lake Yojoa is Honduras’ largest lake. An impressive site to behold, this massive freshwater oasis is surrounded by steep sloping mountains on all sides.
One of the popular things to do while visiting Lake Yojoa is to pay a local boatman to take you out on the lake and around banks looking for a wide variety of bird species. A three hour tour can cost around $10-$15.
Make sure to bring your camera. Nowhere else in Honduras can you see vistas like this. When you’re finished, stop by one of the restaurants or hotels which offer up fried fish, fresh off the boats of local fishermen.
