Honduras agriculture is a staple of the country’s economy.
The mixture of tropical weather and mountainous regions create superb environments for a variety of agricultural products.
Currently Honduras is working with the United States and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture to create additional opportunities for agribusiness within the domestic market, and for exportation.
Honduras is also streamlining the process for tapping into these agricultural economic resources; such as improving roads for faster transportation of these goods, in order to provide optimum delivery at the peak of production.
Strong Honduras agricultural products in 2012 include bananas, coffee, corn, palm oil, beef and tilapia.
