| The Vegetable Program's goals are to identify vegetable crops and to develop production systems that offer production alternatives for both local and export consumption. The program supports the export vegetable industry and promotes its diversification. | ![]() |

The Vegetable Program has
supported the producers of cucumbers, pickling cucumbers,
zucchini (winter squash), sweet onions, processed tomatoes, asparagus and oriental vegetables. Also, through its research
activities, FHIA has identified varieties,
cultural practices and pest and disease control methods
for various vegetable crops. |
The Program has provided the
cornerstone so that many Honduran producers participate and show interest in establishing commercial farms to produce vegetables.
