See the many pictures and photos taken during the this imporatn event in Honduras below as well as various Comayagua Tourist Attractions. Here is more on the event:

The trip will be two days for those who want to spend Saturday night in Comayagua and just one day for those who would just like to travel and return the same day. Comayagua’s strategic location allows everyone to move from anywhere in the country and still arrive in time to participate in all the cultural, artistic and special events that Comayagua’s residents have prepared for us. In other words, participants can join the caravan for two days or simply attend the festivities on Sunday.

The Mayor of the city of Comayagua, Carlos Miranda, with the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Manuel Hernandez, and the president of the Chamber of Tourism, Tirso Zapata are preparing two interesting days full of cultural events and performances of different groups of their city and villages in their jurisdiction. Other members involved in the preparation of this event, are organizations such as Lions Club and the Cultural Committee of Comayagua.

There will be craft shows, competitions, folk dancing, sightseeing tours and typical food sales.

The visits to Museums, Colonial and Historic buildings will be supported by local guides to achieve the best possible information about these places. Some of these historic places that will be visited are the Colonial Cathedral, the Clock of the Cathedral (which is the oldest clock in America), the Plaza of San Francisco, the Churches of Charity, St. Sebastian, La Merced, San Francisco and of course the different museums available in Comayagua.

Other cultural activities will be the display of the famous Carpets of Sawdust and the dancing of the “Diablitos”.

To travel travel to Comayagua from the north coast or San Pedro Sula it is necessary to take the road that leads to Tegucigalpa, it is a two hours and a half trip.

If you are traveling from Tegucigalpa you have to take the road that leads to the North Coast and it’s an hour drive.

If you are traveling from the west of the country, you can take a route through Gracias or La Esperanza to get to the road just north of Siguatepeque and then go south to Comayagua. Depending on the place you start, the journey can last from 3 to 5 hours.

For the ones traveling on Saturday it is advised to get to Comayagua between 2:00 and 3:00pm. For the ones traveling just on Sunday it is advised to arrive before 9:00am.
