The Bio-P-Arque “Paradise” Coffee Plantation and a Paradise of Flowers is located on a 78 acre property of environmental and archaeological value. With natural springs and beautiful hiking trails located near the mountains of Santa Barbara. On the property you will find mounds and ball courts that belonged to the ancient “Lenca” Civilization (years 1,550 BC/ 900 AD).
Lodging and spacious green areas for camping are available. The park can accommodate sporting, social and religious events throughout the year.
Enjoy the opportunity of going hiking through the nature trails while enjoying the beauty of the coffee plantations, tropical flowers and wild birds.
You can relax while surrounded by natural forests where you can appreciate the large variety of lumber trees, the diversity of birds, smaller animals (iguanas, squirrels, guatusas), tropical flowers and exotic orchids. There are five (5) natural springs and the crystalline White River (Cold River) where you can take a refreshing dip in its cool waters.
The surrounding areas have a rich biodiversity; more than 400 species of birds and 800 plants have been identified in the region. 54 species of mammals, 31 species of amphibians, 72 species of reptiles, 29 species of freshwater fish and a large number of insects. It is easy to get to “Paradise” Bio-P-Arque, you must travel through the paved road that runs from Peña Blanca to Las Vegas and Mochito (3 km) and then take a detour from the main road unto a dirt road and travel about 1 kilometer (see road sign) in the village of Los Naranjos until you reach the property. Note: Peña Blanca is one of the largest towns located on the north coast of the Lago de Yojoa. There you will find several banks, an Office of Hondutel (telephone company), the famous medical center “Santa Cecilia” with Dr. Juancho , supermarkets and a variety of stores where you will find most of your basic supplies.
